Annual Community Events
Topsfield celebrates four major community festivals to mark the seasons.
Grow Spring! EXPO
Scheduled for early April by the Topsfield Garden Club, the EXPO features over seventy exhibitors and vendors and celebrates the coming of spring and the beauty and bounty of Topsfield and Essex County.
Strawberry Festival
The Strawberry Festival is sponsored by the Topsfield Historical Society. Always held on the second Saturday in June, it takes place on the Topsfield Town Common. The famous strawberry shortcakes are served in the Emerson Center, and crafters and local non-profit groups are arranged around the Common. An antique car show spreads across the way in front of the Meetinghouse.
Topsfield Fair
The oldest agricultural fair in the nation is sponsored by the Essex Agricultural Society. Lasting for eleven days, there are exhibits, concerts, and a huge variety of food to enjoy.
Holiday on the Green
The "Holiday Walk" or Holiday on the Green takes place on the first Saturday of December. It features the lighting of the Memory and Brownie trees and lights on the Common, music, door decorating contests, and a number of vendors and food trucks.
